I remember the cooler of Cokes -- actually, a local brand of soft drinks, Duffy's -- after each loss of the Edgewater Cubs, for whom I pitched and gave up multitudes of runs. And that pizza. And the Stanger (yeah, the Mustang) and tooling the streets of Denver.

Dick,
I am sorry to learn of the loss of your Father. Ben always recognized me when I went in, and he always came over to say hello and see how I was doing. Always gave the table a round, too! I think he knew me from helping you during the early days of Sweetness when we were building the second office interior. His thoughtfulness always made me feel special, feel good, feel welcome. I can't recall ever meeting a nicer man. Like Father, like Son.
My thoughts and love are with you, Dick.

Dear old friends Dickie and Carolyn -"Murphy Lopez" and his family shed more than a few tears when we learned that your dad passed away. Ben was the epitome of class, kindness and generosity. Just think of how many people whose life he impacted in such a profound, lasting way. Ben was a source of comfort and consistency - you knew what you were going to get when you walked into his home or the Edgewater Inn, which was a refuge from the world outside (and still is, just without Ben's special presence). Think of the generations who enjoyed the Inn as a "home away from home" due to the way they were made to feel like family when they entered its doors. Ben will always be remembered as such a genuine, special, unique person - a true "one of a kind". He is missed, but his memory will bring joy to our heart. With our condolences and love - Barry, Michelle, Brandt and Ashley Nelson

Uncle Ben - Total Cool, Shrewd, Touch of Class. I was always anxious to see him and how handsome I know he was going to look, and, ALWAYS DID. He good make the simplest of gathering times family or otherwise an occasion. True memory, just the way he handled himself, the ways he said the things he said. That beautiful, timely smile and look in the Italian thinking, talking eyes. He was a special UNCLE, always providing you with a special stregth, inspiration and proper attitude about everything. He always made me feel I was worth the effort and never let him down. He enhanced my life in a way that ONLY he
could do. He always called me B, told me I looked pretty or nice and made me feel special that I waw his niece.
Dick, Carolyn, Haley, are family relationship is just that, understood. Nothing closer or more binding. He always remembered to ask about Anthony and his well being. We would react with positive reactions. May the good Lord always hold you all in his loving embrace. Uncle is LOVE TO THE inth degree. Do not come any finer. May you rest in peace.
Catch you later, Uncle Bennie. Thanks for the memories. Love You!!!!!!!
"B". I miss you, never will you be forgotten. (sorry I was unable to read scripture. the heart speaks when words cannot. Love, prayers, thoughts

I just heard about Benny. I thought the world of him. He sponsored so many of my sports teams through the years. All I had to do was call and tell Ben we needed shirts, jerseys, etc. He would tell me to come on down to the Edge and a check would be waiting. Benny was pure class. I will miss him. My condolences to Dick and the rest of the family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Our memories of Ben and the Edgewater Inn go way back, to the early 60's, for both the Graham and the Meier Families. We have so enjoyed our time with all of the DiPietro family and having been a personal part of your lives as well. He was a big part of Denver area and established a “Land Mark” which we are so thankful Dick has carried on. May Ben rest in peace.
With love, Craig, Barbie, Bianca and Monica Meier, also the Graham Family
