84, preceded in death by his parents, James & Gladys (nee Brady), his brother James "Jimmy" & sister-in-law Elizabeth "Betty" as well as his beloved wife Doris (nee Shechter) all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Charlie served in the U.S. Air Force between World War II and the Korean wars. He was an avid baseball fan and umpired for many years in Philadelphia where he worked for the Philadelphia Gas Works and retired after 41 years of service. Charlie moved to Colorado after the passing of his wife to be near family. There he joined the ranks of the hosts at Coors Field and was given the nickname "Rockpile Charlie". Charlie was also known to many in the Denver area as "Uncle Charlie" and truly embraced life. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday January 27, 2013 from 2 - 6pm at the Snowbird II Condominiums 3335 S. Ammons Street, building 3, Lakewood CO 80226. Interment will be at the George Washington Memorial Park in Plymouth Meeting, PA at a later date. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to The Bridge Church Youth Activities Fund, PO BOX 620162, Littleton CO 80162-0162.
