Charlotte (Cholly) Eskridge Obituary
Charlotte (Cholly) Eskridge, 89, of Denver, Colorado passed away February 1, 2014 from complications of Alzheimer's. Born on September 12, 1924 in Grand Island Nebraska, she is survived by her two daughters Dinah Eskridge of Denver and Emmy Eskridge Borgman of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, her son in-law Russ Borgman and her three grandchildren Ned Borgman, Evann Borgman and Tucker Borgman all of New York, NY. Charolotte is pre-deceased by her husband Edward, her brother John and her son James Thomas. Cholly graduated from Grinnell College in Iowa and subsequently earned her Masters in Science from University of Denver where she completed additional graduate hours towards her Doctorate. She retired from Denver Public Schools in 1989 where she had served in the office of the assistant superintendent of schools as well as several executive positions and initially as an elementary school teacher. She was generous with her time and talent prior to and after her retirement including a fifty year member of P.E.O., an art docent for the Denver Art Museum, a lecturer and tour guide for Colorado Historical Society as well as numerous other Denver philanthropies. Friends and family knew Cholly to be a consummate host of parties and gatherings including her annual summer camp for her grandchildren known as Camp GiGi Ha-Ha. Her love for her family and close friends will be fondly remembered by those that knew her including her neighbors in alley 10 at Three Fountains Condominiums. Memorial services will be private.
