93, passed away on August 6, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Betty "Pat" Hurt; children Robert "Bob" Hurt and Pati "Sue" Jacobsen (Hurt), and her husband Wayne; his grandchildren Mick Jacobsen and Tara Fick (Jacobsen), and her husband Jason; his great-grandson Johnathon Jacobsen; and his dog Snoopy.
He was known by many names, "Honey," "Daddy," "Grandpa," "Great-Grandpa," but never "Clarence." He preferred Carroll for an old-fashioned reason. But, whatever you called him he was almost always "Like hair on a frog... fine."
Some might call him stubborn, and rightly so. But, his "stubbornness" kept him going. He rarely complained of his pains, and never spent a night in a hospital until he was in his nineties; he was quite proud of that fact. He enjoyed taking long walks, for as long as he was able. He preferred to do things for himself, even when he shouldn't have, but was always quick to give thanks when others helped him.
He was a loving and caring man. He always had a joke to tell and a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed. The father of our family and a friend to everyone he knew. We love you, Honey, Daddy, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa... Carroll.
Viewing will be held at 9:00am, Wednesday, August 14th. Funeral services will follow at 10:00am. Both will be at Olinger Moore Howard Chapel, 4345 W. 46th Ave., Denver, CO 80212, with graveside services at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 11:30am.
