In loving memory of and dedication to David Preston (3/18/25-11/7/13), beloved husband and life partner of 64+ years to Louise (née McCarron) both of Boston, MA, after a valiant months-long struggle against pneumonia, and a lifelong battle won against complications from diabetes. In celebration of a life well-lived! Devoted father to Christopher H and wife Maureen (née Barron), of Centennial, CO David E and wife Sheila (née Lecky) of Ludington, MI, Paul M, Los Angeles, CA, Ellen Vallee (husband Mark) of Louisville, CO, Susan J (partner Cynthia Pallin) of Cambria, CA, Anne C of Broomfield, CO, loving grandfather to 12, great grandfather to 5, pre-deceased by sister, Ruth in 2011. Graduate of Tufts University (BS, Civil Engineering), Harvard University (MS, Magna Cum Laude, Sanitary Engineering). Dad served in the US Navy, before embarking on a career in Public health including Superintendent of Water Treatment for the City of Miami Water and ultimately as Executive Director of the American Water Works Association in Denver. Accomplished executive, world traveler, gourmet, wine lover, Dad cherished a long, happy, fulfilling life, loving marriage to Mom, sharing in the accomplishments of his successful children, many friends and his lifetime of wonderful memories. There will be no funeral services per Dad's wishes. However, a ceremony honoring his Naval service will be held at Ft. Logan in Denver, CO on Friday, November 29th at 3:15p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor to American Diabetes Association (donations/diabetes.org) would be an appropriate tribute. May all of us move onward surrounded by as much celebration, pride & love!
