Eleanor Vincent

1928 - 2013

Memorial Service, Monday, July 15, 11 AM, Wellshire Presbyterian Church, 2999 S. Colo. Blvd, reception to follow. Eleanor grew up in Salisbury, N. Carolina, graduated from UNC, Greensboro, and earned a MSW from Tulane. She then worked as a pediatric social worker at Walter Reed and Fitzsimons hospitals. Married for 55 yrs, she is survived by her husband, Dr. Tom Vincent, and their 3 sons--Tom Jr., Bill (Sally and granddaughters Sage and Joy), and John (Lisa). Eleanor had a lifelong passion for playing Bridge, as many of her good friends will acknowledge. She was a member of League of Women Voters. Developing an avid interest in Colorado history, she joined the Colorado Historical Society and helped to start their oral history project. Later she was a President of the volunteers and subsequently was elected to the Board of Directors of the Colorado Historical Society, where she continued to serve for 23 years! She was a docent for the Governor's Mansion for several years, a docent for the Denver Rotary Artists of America series, and served two terms as an Elder at Wellshire Presbyterian Church. Eleanor and Tom have enjoyed season after season of the Colorado Symphony and Friends of Chamber Music. The family is very thankful for The Denver Hospice who helped during the last 3 1/2 years of her life.
