Esther Mae Gatseos was born Esther Mae Kauffman in Johnstown, Colorado on August 9th, 1925. She grew up in Berthoud, Colorado, graduated from Berthoud High School and graduated from Colorado State College of Education in Greeley, CO. She met George Gatseos after he returned from WWII. They were married in 1947 in Denver, CO, where they raised three children. She taught English in Sumner, Nebraska at Sumner High School. She lovingly supported her husband's many business concerns, and was a national officer with her sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha. She dedicated many years of service to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Denver, Colorado, serving as Senior Warden, on the Vestry, as a lay reader, challis bearer, and Alter Guild member. She is survived by Dr. George Gatseos II, wife Janet, grandson George Gatseos III, wife Tara and great grandson George Gatseos IV, granddaughter, Jeanne Robinson, husband Matthew, great grandson Benjamin George and great granddaughter, Virginia Dale Robinson, granddaughters, Megan Gatseos, Suzanne Gatseos Larrick, grandson, Andrew Larrick, wife Lindsey, and granddaughters, Ashley Larrick, Elizabeth (Beth) Gatseos Buckingham, husband, Steve, granddaughter, Brittney Burns and grandsons Alex, Donlin, and Dusty Buckingham. She will be sorely missed for her insight, wisdom, knowledge, friendship, and love. Memorial Service will be Sunday, June 17, 2PM at St. Luke's Episcopal Church 1270 Poplar St., Denver, CO 80220.
