Hard to believe it is rapidly almost a year since he has left us. A reminder of how fast life goes by and how important to do those things and see those people we need to while alive. This is all to true

I met Gary quite a few years ago in Raleigh, NC, and immediately knew we were kindred spirits...how could we not be? He got my jokes and I got his, while others were grimacing and scratching their heads. We cared for the same people.
Most of our communication was through e-mail, sharing a laugh or two. He showed his gentle, caring side early, telling Carol that he knew I was busy, so he didn't want to "bother" me too often. When his messages would come through, my day always got better...I was NEVER too busy to hear the latest from Gary!
Knowing the depth of love Gary, Carol and Brittney had for each other made me happy for all three of them, each seemed to know exactly what the other needed and gave it glady. That's a family many long for, but very few get.
I know this for sure; Gary was a true gentleman, caring more for others than himself, completely selfless. I admired him for that and always will. I have no doubt God will enjoy you as much as I did, Gary...HE, like me, will NEVER be too busy for you...

Gary, I've known you since I was eight years old. I don't think you ever truly understood how much you meant to me. Thank you for everything you have done for me in my life. All of the life lessons you've taught me, all of the never-ending conversations about anything and everything, watching Lilo & Stitch and every other movie you let me retell and ruin for you :), letting me call you when I was sad and helping me with my problems, and being a father to me. I never got to tell you that I wanted it to be you to walk me down the aisle someday. I love you with all of my heart. I'm so happy that you are in a better place now, and only sad because I know that you had so much more to tell me and teach me in my life. You will live on in my heart.

Gary - You ALWAYS had a kind word, and a smile on your face. I had almost forgotten what a truly nice guy you were. You won't be forgotten my friend.

His picture with his smile says it all. Always an impecable smile : ) I guess when you are so full inside with happiness it has to bust outside in some manner and that would be Gary's smile. Although I had the pleasure of spending time with Gary and his sister skiing and hiking when he first moved here, I became a single dad and unfortunately our contact dropped off. However, I never forgot those times and it was a pleasure to run into him from time to time at his sister's Christmas parties. This earth and his friends will miss Gary. Also, it is a reminder to me of how time flies and how 20 some years ago seems like only yesterday and now Gary, who was way to young, is gone and while we did not get to spend much time together for so many years I'm so glad for the days we got to spend together.
God Bless Gary and his family
