of Centennial, CO passed away peacefully on July 14, 2013. He was born on May 17, 1922 in Harstad, Norway. He married Ann Osberg on July 1, 1947. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann, his 3 children, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous loved ones here and abroad. John was proud of his Norwegian- American heritage. He came to this country at the age of six and later became a U.S. citizen and a long time resident of Youngstown, OH. His heart embraced both countries. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a second lieutenant and flight instructor. John graduated from The Ohio State University in 1947. John began his forty year career as a mechanical engineer at Commercial Shearing, Inc. and retired as its Chief Executive Officer. John served his communities in many ways, giving time, talent and resources to service organizations such as The Salvation Army, the YMCA, and Toys for God's Kids. He was a man of diverse interests and was particularly passionate about golf. He was a life-long learner. At his request, there will be no services. His wish was to be remembered in life, in one's own personal way. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund at www.fallen heroesfund.org.
