RHETA PETTID Obituary
PETTID, RHETA ARLENE Passed away in Denver November 18th, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She will be cremated, with a memorial service will be held in the spring of 2011 at her home in Howard, CO. An open house for family and friends will be held Friday starting at 2 p.m., for additional information, call 720-985-8369 or contact any family member. She is survived by her husband, John (Jack) D. Pettid. They were married 58 years. She is also survived by her four children, Kenneth D. Pettid (Kim Marie), Marc G. Pettid (Cheryl), Rhonda K. O'Brien, Linda M. Bissell (Scott). She leaves 14 grandchildren Brendan Pettid, Erin Pettid, Cameron Pettid, Cortney Logan, Jarett Branch, Jason Pettid, Jami Bedsaul, Sarah O'Brien, Jessica Boling, Hanna O'Brien, Morgan O'Brien, Tommy O'Brien, Chris Bissell, Josh Bissell and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Tim Aiken and her sister Dona Fugget. Rheta was a native of Colorado being born in Denver. She graduated Manuel High School and was married to John D. Pettid on July 3rd, 1952. She worked for many years at Western Foundry and Homelite. She loved playing poker and the Denver Broncos. She was retired, and a housewife for the past 27 years living in Howard, Colorado. She loved antique cars and helped her husband restore and show many of them. She was also known as a great cook and canner. She was a wonderful cake decorator, decorating all the family and friends cakes. Rheta was loved by all, and her memory will endure.

Hello Mom, not a day goes by that I don't think of you and all the memories of life with you. The holiday time brings in more memories of family, laughter, food, and good things in life. Dad is back out of hospital and hopefully getting stronger. We all want him him longer. Please send him your love and strength. We all love and miss you.

Hey grandma it's been three years since we last had time together I sure do miss you I can't wait till we see each other again. As you know the family is doing great the kids are growing up so fast doing well in school and being kids enjoying life. Grandpa is still in the hospital and no real answers of what's going on with him I know your ready to see him again but I want him to be here with me too. I know the day will come when I will be writing both of you but I'm really not ready for that day to come I just don't want him to suffer anymore just be happy and healthy. Its not the same without hearing your voice on the other end of the phone or in person if i could go back on time for one special day again i would choose the day of my wedding and sit and talk with you for hours about all the good times we had together i miss you so much I'm glad we had so many talks you taught me so much i can't do a puzzle without thinking of you or play poker with pockets and not bring up memories about us can't wait to see you again hope all is well
