Richard Arndt grew up in New Rochelle, N.Y. He attended Keyon College in Ohio, and then joined the U.S. Marine Corps. After his military service, he attended the University of Denver, then joined the Peace Corps and served in Columbia. He earned a PhD at the University of New Mexico and taught at the University of Utah for serveral years. He later worked for Action and the Vista Volunteer programs, and later returned to the Peace Corps as a recruiter and program director. He is survived by his wife, Judy Haddow, stepson, Geoffrey Vernon, sister Annie Ottersberg, and many long time friends. Funeral arrangements at Ft.
