Margaret Thibodeau

Obituary Condolences

Margaret Thibodeau, née Hill, died peacefully at home in Denver on March 20, 2014. Margaret was born in Buckhaven, Fife, Scotland on July 5, 1923 to Andrew and Anne Hill. After the start of World War II she moved to Glasgow, Scotland, and worked as part of the war industry. In 1945 she met American Army officer Frank Thibodeau, stationed in England. Frank and Margaret were married later that year and Margaret immigrated to America as an army bride. She spent many years traveling with her husband, stationed in both America and Europe, as they raised their two daughters. After Frank retired from the military, they settled in Denver, Colorado. Margaret loved to collect seashells. Always graceful and elegant, she was an accomplished seamstress and an amazing cook. She always kept her house welcoming and warm. She was the core of the family, and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Heather Weinberg and Yvonne Thibodeau; her grandchildren, Jennifer Brown, Michael and Joel McKelvey, Joey Sable, and David Weinberg; her great-grandchildren Max, Vanessa, Jane, and Lyra McKelvey; and her nieces Valerie Reekie and Judith Russell. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Frank Thibodeau (1920-2008).
