Patrick Blankemeier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 5, 2017.
Pat passed away in a tragic airplane accident on Monday, February 27th at the age of 58. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; mother, Mary Frances; children, Stephanie and Kevin; and two brothers, Mike and Jim. Pat was born at Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA and lived in Pennsylvania, Hawaii, and central CA before moving to San Diego at the age of 15 when his father retired from the Air Force. Family was always first to Pat. He was a devoted father and friend to so many. He will be remembered for his joy and enthusiasm for life. Outside of flying, he loved going to the beach, cycling, off-roading, hiking, and fixing just about anything. Services will be held at the Spirit of Christ Catholic Community on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Please take comfort in the scripture found at 1Thessalonians 4:14:For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus.

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow. Those who pass on, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. My sincerest condolences. (Psalms 116:15)

I am sorry for your loss. May you draw strength in in knowing the fact that God is the Creator of life, and He is capable of restoring life to someone who has died. Acts 17 : 24, 25. C M

There is so much to say and share. The tears flow like a river. Pat and JP are with each other and that's a good thing. Such of loss of words. I'm so sorry.

My sincere condolences to the family. I have been an airline pilot for 29 years. When looking for a flight school for my son I visited Rocky Mountain Metro airport where I met Pat. His calm demeanor and professionalism convinced me to trust him and his flight school with my sons pilot training. He was always a pleasure to speak with and clearly an excellent role model for aspiring pilots. The aviation community has lost a true friend.

Peace be with you,

Tom Brinton

Pat was the nicest guy you could ever meet. He was a good friend and would be there for you in a heartbeat.

We had a blast growing up together and attending Patrick Henry High School. We were all part of the same "gang" that consisted of members from San Carlos, Del Cerro and Allied Gardens.

Tomorrow I will play my old '70's rock and roll songs and remember the good times we had.

Love to Karen, Stephanie and Kevin...

Was so very sorry to see this in the paper today. Love and prayers to the family. Pat lived one street over from us in San Carlos long ago, when we all were in Jr. High. He, along with his friend Chris, would hang out at our house from time to time. We would play football in the street and had lots of good times. He was an all around good guy. Much love to you all.

My heart broke when I heard about Pat. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend in Santee and a fun bunko player! And never mind a great pilot. Karen, Stephanie and Kevin : always remember he loved you very very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love,
Pat and Ron Hornik
Santee, CA
