Obituary Condolences

BARKER, CARROLL D. 73, of Arvada, passed away on September 16 after a lengthy illness resulting from diabetes. He is survived by his wife, Irene; four step children, Alan Powell, (Jan) of Kingman, AZ, Jerrolyn Powell of Littleton, Daryl Powell (Carol) of Chandler, AZ, Marilyn Pierce (Randy) of Littleton; sisters Donna Sitzler of Blackhawk, Lena Williams (Howard) of Canyon City; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A native of Colorado, Carroll was born in Greeley, CO. on April 28, 1930, to Carl and Bertha Barker who preceded him in death. He retired in 1988 as a manager from Rocky Flats. Carroll's wife, children, grandchildren, family, neighbors and friends will miss him dearly, but are thrilled to know he has joined family and is resting in peace in the arms of Jesus, his Lord the Savior. Among all his endearing qualities he maintained a positive attitude while battling this disease. Visitation and services will be held at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, 29th & Wadsworth. Visitation will be Thursday, September 18, 5-8 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, September 19, 2003 at 3 p.m. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in his memory are suggested to the American Diabetes Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
