JOSEPH DOROUGH Obituary

84, Born Feb. 10, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Milton and Della Dorough. He died Dec. 7, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria; daughter Barbara Gablehouse (Tim); sons Gary (Debra) and Robert Dorough (Cecilia); grandchildren, Brian Gablehouse (Lindsay), Kristin Gablehouse (Joshua Lawton), Andrew Gablehouse (Jennifer), Michael Dorough (Jennifer), Katherine Dorough, Lyndsey Dorough, James Dorough; greatgrandchildren, Zachary and Ethan Gablehouse, Owen Gablehouse, Kayla Dorough and Alexandra Woodward. Joe was highly regarded as an athlete at East High School in Denver where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame, 2008. He attended the University of Colorado where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering, while serving in the US Navy. He played college football and pro-baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals, built his own business, and learned to fly airplanes. His greatest gift was his willingness to help anyone who needed it. Joe was a kind and loving husband, dad, grandpa, and Grumpy to his family and a wonderful friend to everyone who knew him. Joe will be missed by all. A private memorial was held for family and friends. Please make any donations to the American Heart Association.
