Heffron, Harold "Hal"
1918 - 2012
Died June 19, 2012 at Denver Health Hospital after a brief stay. He was 93 years old. Hal was a cryptographer in the service in World War II. After the war he became a journalist and worked as a copy editor for the Rocky Mountain News from 1954 to 1984. Hal enjoyed golf and also did volunteer work for the and Denver Adult Tutorial. He also tutored at St. Rose of Lima school. He was President for a term with the Denver Press Club. Hal was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Marge. He is survived by sons, Tim, Tom, and Steve; also grandson, Alex and granddaughter, Jennifer. A funeral mass is scheduled for 11:00 am, June 27th, at St. Rose of Lima Church, located at 355 S. Navajo St., Denver. The burial will follow at 1:15pm at Ft. Logan Cemetery at Staging area C. Donations can be made to the .
