85, of Littleton Colorado passed away on October 8, 2012 with his devoted wife Donna Reichling Keamy at his side. He leaves behind many who will miss his jovial spirit and infectious smile. Born May 18, 1927 in Lawrence, MA to Lebanese immigrants, he graduated from Lawrence High School as Valedictorian of the class of 1944. He went on to study Chemical Engineering at MIT and later earned Masters degrees in Business Administration and Chemical Engineering from New York University. Mitchell married his high school sweetheart Edith E. Hassey on October 29, 1949. They lived in New York, Leominster MA, Stamford, CT and Brookfield, WI before settling in Littleton, CO in 1980. After the death of Edith, he met and married Donna in 1995. As a chemical engineer he worked on projects around the world, traveling to Australia, Russia, Sweden and Brazil to name a few. He later became an innovator in the development of alternative fuel technologies. He was a lifelong learner who continued to pursue business opportunities through his retirement. Throughout life, he enjoyed tennis and golf, was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan, and was a supporter of local fine arts. He was an avid reader. Mitch loved nothing more than to spend time with his family and friends, often traveling cross-country for visits. Later in life he became a great Lebanese cook and liked to share meals with those he loved. Mitchell is survived by his wife Donna, his children Mitchell (and wife Margot), Lisa (and husband Lloyd) and Thea and his grandchildren Mitchell, Adrienne, Emily, Sam and Nicole as well as his brothers and sisters in-law Ed, Mary, Mel, Carol Ann and Jo Ann, and many loved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11 am at Littleton United Methodist Church, 5894 South Datura Street, Littleton, CO 80120.
