Timothy Harris Obituary

Timothy Charles Harris, born December 13, 1952, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013, with his loving wife, Joyce Joransen, by his side. No one could have waged a more courageous battle against cancer. Tim was born in Aurora and raised in the Denver metropolitan area. He was an outstanding athlete that played quarterback for his high school football team and played sports while attending Western State Colorado University in Gunnison. Tim loved golf. No, he really loved golf! Tim began playing at the age of five and developed into a scratch golfer. Many friends who played with him never tired of seeing him drive the ball straight down the middle of the fairway at a distance of 300 yards or more. Tim played many rounds of golf with friends and family in Colorado, Ireland, Pebble Beach, plus other locations. In addition to golf, football and other sports, he was also an accomplished scuba diver that traveled the globe to dive in a variety of exotic locales, including the world famous Truk Lagoon. Tim was a self-made man. After Tim and Joyce married in 1992, he became a Licensed General Contractor owning his own business specializing in high end custom homes and real estate development. It was almost impossible to spend time with Tim and not have fun. His spirit, energy and love of life will be enormously missed by his friends and mostly by Joyce. In addition to Joyce, he leaves two very special Australian Shepherds, Archie and Fred. Joyce invites friends to a remembrance service on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at one o'clock in the afternoon in Washington Park at St. John's Church, 700 South Franklin Street, Denver, Co, 80209. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the local chapter of the , 2255 South Oneida Street, Denver, Co, 80224. Online tributes may be posted at www.fairmount-mortuary.com
