Don and I both attended Englewood HS but met after he graduated. He was still going to art school when we met and was always broke. Our idea of a fun date was to splurge $3 on gas for his marvelous LaSalle Coupe. I hope he got to restore that beautiful car. We drove his mom crazy when his copy of "Mad" magazine came in the mail--we'd hole up and read every page!! I remember going to car shows to admire the "pin striping" on the restored classic cars--some of them were done by Don. Even though we hadn't seen each other since the 60's--we both had a Miss Kitty! An amazing man.

I was very saddened to learn about Don's passing. Don and I went to art school together and I had the opportunity to work with Don as a freelancer when Don was an art director at Broyles. He was wonderful artist and a darned good guy. He will be missed by all.

The world is a better place because Don was here, now I'm sure Heaven is improved because of his presence there. I know I'm a better person for having known him.

I am so sorry to hear of Don's passing. I had the good fortune to know Don and work with him over the years when I had my own business. He was incredibly talented, gifted with a creative eye and imagination. In 1978 when I opened my commercial studio as Melick. Inc., Don was the first Senior Art Director at a ‘4A‘ Advertising Agency in Denver to hire me to provide the photography for the first of three concurrent annual reports for Central Bank of Denver, which led to more high profile projects like Central Bank's ‘Living Wall,' as well as ad campaigns for Johns Manville Corporation, Gates Rubber Company, and Qwest. Those were all great years. Don was always passionate and sincere, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He would not hesitate to place someone else's needs or interests before his own. He was everything that we like and look for in a person! Please accept our most sincere condolences for your loss. With heartfelt sadness, Jordan & Linda Melick

We have been saddened by the passing of Don, it was quite a shock. We have fun memories of times spent with Don and Barb when we lived in the Denver area. We went to church with them and we were part of the Young Adult Group. We enjoyed many great times with them and have kept in touch through the years. Our prayers are with Barb and the family. Love, Chuck and Donna

Don even though I only met you only once it was like I had known you for a long time. It was fun when you came over to Korea and we went the different places with Kristi and Chris. I was looking over some of the pictures that were posted and I was saying I remember that. My prayers go out to your family.

Don will be missed by all. He had a great sense of humor. Don was extremely proud of his daughters. I believe Tex and Miss Kitty may be lost without him to lookout for them. Don was very passionate about anything he did. He so much enjoyed his trip to South Korea and was hoping to go again one day.

My condolences to all the Stroh family at this difficult time. Prayers go out to all of you.
