Yolanda Diane "YOYO" Proctor

1963 - 2015

52, passed away on October 29, 2015, at her home in Aurora, CO, after a valiant 7 year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and family. Yolanda was born on March 6, 1963 in Denver, CO, the daughter of George Lewis Black Sr. and Vera Mae Johnson. Yolanda loved spending time with her family, her two daughters, Kylia and Mekeila, her loving and hard working husband Melvin, and the light of her life her grandson K'Omari! Yolanda loved the Lord and attended Heritage Christian Center and The Potters House. During her 7 year battle with cancer, Yolanda was a true CHAMPION! She never complained and always wanted to hear more about what was going on with you, instead of talking about what she was going through. She was still YO though and you ALL know what I mean by that... Yolanda you will be greatly missed but NEVER forgotten and ALWAYS LOVED!! A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Heritage Christian Center, 14401 E. Exposition Avenue, Aurora, CO 80012. Survivors include her husband, Melvin Proctor; daughters Mekeila Proctor and Kylia Bruce; grandson, K'Omari Bradley; her parents, Vera & William Craven; George & Alma Black Sr.; brother, George Black Jr. his wife Shirley; nephew Elijah; and Yolanda's favorite little running mate Gabriella! Her sisters, Erika (Carl) Evans, Rowena (Tyrone) Craft, Alecia Whitehead; grandmother, Willie Jewel Henderson; plus numerous aunts, uncles, other nieces, nephews, and cousins, too many to name individually but still loved just the same.
