Barbara-Katie Chapman was tragically killed May 19, 2006 in a car accident near Fairbanks, Alaska. She would have been 24 years old on June 8th. "B-K" was a sweet, bubbly girl whose earliest loves were bringing home strays and fishing on her daddy's knee. Bright and beautiful, her dream was to be a veterinarian. Dearly loved by family and friends, the loss of her smile, contagious laugh and goofy humor will be missed and mourned forever. Barbara lives on through the lives of those who survive her especially her son Travis Drake Lee Mimms Chapman; her mother Lyssa Chapman (life partner John Greene) of Fairbanks; her father Duane Lee (Beth) Chapman I of Honolulu; her sister Lyssa Chapman II; and her brother Tucker Dee Chapman. Also surviving her are maternal grandparents Grace Worthington and Bobby Lee Matheney; half-brothers Christopher, Duane Lee, Leland, Wesley, J.R., Garry and Nicholas Chapman and half-brothers Jay Brittain and Billy Brown; half-sisters Cecily & Bonnie Jo Chapman; aunts Paula (Frank) Hammond and Kathy (Guy) Mendt; uncles Mike Chapman, Richard, Thomas, and James Worthington, cousins Christine Hammond, Jennifer Hill, Bridgette Galusha, Timothy Mendt, Blake Friend, Jack, John, and Amanda Worthington, nieces and nephews, and a host of family & friends. Preceding Barbara in death are her brother Zeb and her paternal grandparents Wesley and Barbara Chapman. Private services will be held next week at Olinger Crown Hill in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Barbara-Katie Chapman Memorial Scholarship Fund, 11601 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 2200, Los Angeles, CA, 90025.
