Barbara "Gran" Marion Owen, 83, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Barbara the daughter of Mildred Bombard and Wilfred Norton was born on November 26, 1934 in Hudson Falls, New York.

Funeral services for "Gran" will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana, with Rev. Jim Reid officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Beauregard Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, and Sunday, June 10, 2018, from noon, 12:00 p.m. until time of the service.

Barbara moved to DeRidder in 1969 when her husband became employed at the new paper mill, Boise Southern Natural Gas. She was a homemaker and loved following her sons and grandsons in their athletic endeavors. She never missed a holiday sending cards to her family which included $5.00 for her grandchildren. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in DeRidder. She loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family. She kept in contact with close friends and family regardless of how far they might have moved away.

Preceded in death by her parents, Mildred B. and Wilfred Norton; two brothers, Buddy and Howard, one sister, Elleen.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Donald Owen, Sr. of DeRidder, LA; two sons, Donald Owen, Jr. of Many, LA; William Owen (wife, Shari) of DeRidder, LA; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

Barbara, wife, mother, "Gran" will be missed by All.
