Funeral services for Justin Ryan Ullom, 22, of DeRidder, will be held at 10 a.m. on May 9 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of DeRidder. Officiating will be Rev. Danny Wilson. Burial will be in the Drakes Fork Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder. Visitation will begin from 5-9 p.m. on May 8 at the funeral home, and from 9 a.m. until the time of services on May 9 at the church.
Justin was born on March 15, 1991 to Eva McMullen Ullom and Thomas Michael Ullom in DeRidder. He was a lifelong resident of DeRidder and graduated from DeRidder High School in 2012. Justin was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he sang in the church choir and was very active in God's Shining Stars. He had achieved his Life Scout rank and was a Vigil Member in the Order of the Arrow. Justin was also active in the Louisiana State Special Olympics. He was Honorary Drum Major of the DeRidder High School Band. Justin passed from this life on May 5, 2013 in Forest Hill, Texas, shortly after attending the Gather's Concert with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas Ullom and Eva McMullen Ullom of DeRidder; one brother, Nathan Thomas Ullom of DeRidder; three aunts, Kelly Quinllin and husband James of Albuquerque, N.M., Chris White of DeRidder, and Debbie O'Sullivan and husband, Michael of Arlington, Va.; three uncles, Haze McMullen and wife Phillis of DeRidder, Keith Ullom of Omaha, Neb., and David Ullom and wife Sam of Omaha, Neb.; paternal grandparent, Bassett Ware Ullom of Albuquerque, N.M., and maternal grandparent, Ella Lea McMullen of Rosepine; and many cousins.
