Sharlon Ray Keel, 60, of DeRidder, LA, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. The funeral services will be on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Brother James Byrd will officiate. Interment will follow at Old Cypress Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
He was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator/Mechanic. He was a member of the NRA and loved to hunt, fish, and be outdoors.
He leaves to cherish his memeories, his son David and wife Wendy Keel, of DeRidder, LA, his four brothers Jerry Keel, of Merryville, LA, Larry Keel, of DeRidder, LA, Kenneth Keel, of Rosepine, LA, and Charles Keel, of DeRidder, LA, his four sisters Elizabeth Elliott, of Newton, TX, Sharon Cooley, of DeRidder, LA, Sue Cooley, of DeRidder, LA, and Linda Keel, of DeRidder, La, and his two grandchildren Scottie and Cailie.
He is preceded in death by his father Richard "RC" Keel, his mother Trudy Elizabeth Keel, his granddaughter Heaven Keel, and his brother Travis Keel.
Services are conducted by Myers Colonial Funeral Home.
