William Ernest (Bill) Bradshaw
1921 ~ 2013
OGDEN, UTAH-Our loved father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and brother, left this mortal existence on April 27, 2013.
He was born in St. George, Utah on March 9, 1921 to William Bert and Hazel Bentley Bradshaw. He attended Dixie schools and received an Associate of Science Degree from Dixie Jr. College.
He married Alta Maxine Berrett on November 3, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Three children were born to them, Denice (Steve) Hillstrom, William Brent (Becky) Bradshaw and Robert Berrett Bradshaw.
Bill served in the 96th Amphibious Infantry Division in the Pacific in World War II, including the battles of Leyte and Okinawa. He received two Bronze Stars for volunteer hazardous service.
Bill attended DePaul University during his Army specialized training. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Radio Engineering at Valparaiso Technical Institute in Indiana, and later added Life Insurance Underwriting and became the General Agent of Transamerica Occidental Life in Ogden, receiving his CLU in Philadelphia. He was President of Ogden Life Underwriters, President of Utah Life Underwriters and President of Northern Utah Life Underwriters Associations. He qualified for the Company's Million Dollar Round Table.
Besides the Company's memorable convention trips, Bill and Maxine traveled to many countries and into every state, except Alaska, several times.
Bill was an active member in the LDS Church working in many callings, including serving as a missionary in the Western States, Bishop of the 72nd Ward, Ogden Temple Ordinance worker, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, and served a Mission with his wife on Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years; three children; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Schmutz and Mary Lortz. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Shurtliff.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Waterfall Canyon Ward Chapel, 3254 Polk Avenue, Ogden. A viewing will be held at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, where military honors will be accorded.

Dear Maxine and family,
