Alexander Russell Atkin, Passed away Dec 12, 2011 in Taylorsville as a result of a tragic hit and run accident.
Born Nov 21, 1989 to Brian W. and Margaret Farr Atkin. Was a avid sports fan of Philadelphia Eagles, Utah Jazz and Colorado Rockies. He had many friends who will miss him greatly.
Survived by his Parents of Taylorsville, one Brother, Christopher W. (Jasmine), Nephew, Jaten W.
twp Uncles, Korey R. (Linda) and J.R. Hart.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday December 20, 2011 at St. Martin DePorres Church (4914 So.2200 West) at 6:30 P.M. Memorial sharing will be at Alex's house following services.

My Darling son tomorrow it has been 4 weeks . I miss you so much . Since Taylorsville/West Valley is where you lived from Birth there is nowhere I can go without Memories of you making me happy or sad . I know you weren't an Angel and never considered yourself to be a great person,but you were !!!!

I am very grateful for getting the chance to know and grow up with Alex. Alex was always optimistic with a huge heart! I always loved discussing football with him and seeing him smile made my day. I am going to miss him like crazy, there isn't a day that I have not thought about him. Alex will never be forgotten. My thoughts go to his loving family and of course Alex. I love you best friend. I'm surely going to miss you calling me that. Rest in paradise!!

May god bless your family with peace at this time. I have no idea how hard it is to try and clear your mind of the hurt once in a while, but I promise if you do, you will feel Alex's spirit with you. He wants you to know he is ok. What a great kid.

I feel so blessed to have had the chance to meet Alex, he had me laughing that entire night! He was so incredibly sweet & so,so, so loved. It hurts me that I can't be at his funeral to celebrate his life with all of you. He is in my heart & my thoughts. I hope he sees how much his life meant & is watching over everyone. I know he is at least smiling, because with a smile like that it would be wrong not to. Rest in Paradise Alex, I wish you could visit me like we talked about.

When your parents took us in and got custody of us we were scared, I remember you would do everything you could just to get a smile out of us. You are the best little brother any of us could have ever asked for. Thank you for years and years of great times and amazing laughs you gave us. I love you Alex we all miss you more then you could have ever imagined.

i am extremely sorry for your loss alex and my brother were amazing friends i could remember them running around causing trouble in elementry.im so glad to have met that amazing son you brought into this world he was a true genuine person you really cant find many of them now days he will be truly missed by every persons life he stepped into.

Your wonderful son you raised impacted our family greatly with love. From the moment he stepped into our lives he became our family too. No matter what mood I was in, sad, not feeling well, etc. He could walk in the door with that smile and spirit and make me feel better. His hugs were the best, so full of genuine love and warmth, he would never leave the house without hugging each one of us and telling us he loved us. We are hurting, sorry for our loss of your son in our lives, but I can't imagine as his parents what pain you are enduring... I just know that Alex would want you to smile each day for him, as I truly believe in the Lord and that he is now in paradise with him.
