Constance Annie Mace Christie

1923 ~ 2012
Constance Annie Mace Christie. Connie Christie passed away on the 3rd of October 2012. She was 88 years old and was born the 10th of November 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George Raymond Mace and Ethel Margaret Lewis Mace. She was the youngest of five children.
When Connie was a young girl she enjoyed participating in many types of activities, including singing and athletics. She played tennis into her 50s often against neighbors much younger than she was. Connie married Fred John Vincent and they had three children, Richard, Rodger and Lynette. Connie was very involved in raising her children and volunteered as a room mother and in the PTA organization when her children attended elementary school. She worked in the Cub Scout program and helped many neighbor boys enjoy scouting.
Connie loved music and as a young girl she sang with her sisters in local programs. She learned to lead music and she lead the singing in church for much of her adult life until she reached the age of 81 and her eye sight began to fail. The family enjoyed road trips in the summer and saw most of the western half of the country over the years. When her children were raised Connie learned how to paint with oils and painted many beautiful works of art depicting nature. This was one of her greatest pleasures and she kept a large collection of her paintings.
Connie was a diary keeper and almost every day during her later years she wrote something in the diary that applied to her life. At the end of the year she would see that all those entries were typed up and place in a booklet of her life.
After the children were grown Connie and Fred divorced and Connie married Paul Christie on the 11th of October 2002. They had known each other in High School. Attending the temple was one of Connie's favorite activities and she has a great collection of her ancestors with all the temple work for most of those ancestors listed in her file as being completed. Connie's and Paul's lives were joyful ones during their ten years of marriage.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ray and her sister Elise. She is survived by her husband Paul, her sister Irene Peterson and her sister Ethel Kasteler, her children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
