Darrell "DJ" Anderson
1941 ~ 2013
DJ was born July 1, 1941 in Murray, UT, and passed away after a brief battle with aggressive lung cancer on March 28, 2013, at his home in West Valley City, UT.
He leaves behind his wife Patricia of 47 years, his five girls Paula Anderson Salt Lake City, UT; Penny Pearson (Russ) Taylorsville, UT; Stacie Dartnell (Alan) Bakersfield, CA; Dawn Dowdakin (David) Chamblee, GA; Raini Lockett (Daniel) Dayton, NV; 16 grandkids, nine great grandkids and two more on the way; his brothers, Roy Anderson (Jennifer); and Ted Anderson (Cheri), both of West Valley City, UT; and many nieces and nephews.
DJ grew up in the Salt Lake Valley and attend Cyprus and Granger High Schools. He joined the US Army in 1958 and served two years in France driving truck. Upon returning home he continued truck driving for 20 more years at Andico, Inc.; then Pipe and Tube, Inc; and finally as a warehouse supervisor at Marmon Keystone, Inc. until his death. He loved his family and particularly playing with his grandkids, spending his free time riding his motorcycle, and caring for his horses.
He is preceded in death by his father John Bernard Anderson, mother Emma Valate Erickson Anderson, sister Janice Madsen and adopted brother Robert Anderson. DJ chose to be cremated and has requested no funeral services.
