Don Charles Herbert

1929 ~ 2013
Sandy, UT-Our loving, Don Charles Herbert, husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
He was born on October 25, 1929 in Provo, Utah, a son of Jedediah Martin Herbert and Algie Mae Willardson.
Don married Janet Gourley on August 22, 1957 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Don was an active member of the LDS church where he served in many leadership positions throughout his life. He was a temple worker and a Sealer where he sealed many of his grandchildren. He served a mission in Argentina.
He owned and operated his own family business, American KL Business Products.
Don enjoyed golf, boating, cooking and Fox News. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
Surviving are wife, Janet; five children, Rick (Jane) Herbert, Scott (Gai) Herbert, Don W. Herbert, Holly (Robert) DeForest, Kami (Jeff) Sondrup; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and counting; three siblings, Ruayne (Dave) Payne, Merleen Herbert and Paul Thurgood.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the care and comfort given by the staff at Compass Rehab Center and Advocate Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northridge Ward, 11196 South Wasatch Blvd, Sandy, Utah.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church and on Monday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. Following interment, Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard.
