Edwin Albert Bauer "Bud"
July 7, 1921- August 22, 2013
Taylorsville, UT-Edwin "Bud" Albert Bauer, age 92, our wonderful dad, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and husband, passed away on August 22,2013 at the Legacy Village Care Center in Taylorsville, Utah of natural causes.
Bud was born July 7, 1921 in St. Thomas, Nevada to Albert and Lottie Prince Bauer where he grew up running through the desert chasing and riding wild burros and helping to raise his 2 younger brothers.
Bud served in the US Army in 1943 as a Sergeant in World War II where he supervised operations of tank destroyers. He was also a radio operator with artillery and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre of Operations.
Bud married Ethel Watson, January 13, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 21, 1956. They were married 36 years until Ethel passed away. They had 4 children, 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
He later married Violet Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married 21 years until she passed away. He then married Nell Hirschi of St. George, Utah. They were married 11 years until she passed away. Bud loved his wives dearly and took very good care of each one of them while they were on this earth. Bud also loved and enjoyed all of his extended family.
Bud loved camping in the mountains and deer hunting and taught his son and daughters to hunt and enjoy the outdoors.
Bud worked 27 years for Concrete Products Co. a division of Gibbons and Reed Const. Co. as a Production Manager over the sand and gravel division until he retired at 67.
Bud is survived by his 4 children, Connie (Gerhard) Thaller, Sharon (Danny) Hilley, Pamela (Robert) Finn and Russell (Janiel) Bauer, his brother Harold Bauer of Panguitch, UT; brother Glen Bauer of Panguitch, UT; and proceeded by death by his sister Larue Bauer Cannon.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 24 2013 at 2:00 pm Nevada time, at the Moapa Valley Mortuary, 5090 N. Moapa Valley Blvd., Logandale, Nevada. A viewing will be held from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm before the services. Interment will be at the St. Thomas Cemetery in Overton, Nevada next to his beloved Ethel.
We wish to thank the Legacy Retirement and Legacy Village for their caring and kindness. Dad was very happy there.
