Robert Joseph Charles Blewett, age 88, passed away peacefully at his home on May 23rd 2014 of natural causes.
Robert was born April 1, 1926 to Author and Florence Blewett in Windsor Ontario, Canada.
Robert joined the Essex Scottish Pipe band at age 17 as a drummer. He played in several pipe bands over the years in Canada and the U. S. He served in the Canadian Army during World War II, from 1943 to 1950.
He met and married Ada Glenn the love of his life on April 15th 1944. They were later sealed with their two children in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary. Their example of love and devotion to each other was inspiring to all who knew them.
In 1950 they came to the United States for employment. He was employed as a Supervising Engineer and retired from General Telephone of Santa Barbara.
Robert was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved doing Family History and serving in the Temple. He was a High Priest and served in many callings for the Church. He was a wonderful Home teacher. He loved building and flying remote control airplanes but the two most important things to him were his family and the Church. They have four children, seventeen grandchildren and over fifty great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care shown to them by the Intermountain Hospice Company.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday May 27th at the LDS Chapel in Layton at 2475 North Valley View Drive in Layton. Viewing prior to funeral at 9:30 to 10:45 and funeral at 11:00am. Internment at Linquest Memorial Park in Layton, 1867 North Fairfield Road at 12:30 pm.
