Robert Louis Allen returned to his Father in Heaven August 29, 2002 after battling pancreatic cancer for 18 months. Throughout his en-tire life, Rob was valiant, courage-ous, and fearless. Rob was born Feb 20, 1953 in Provo, UT to John Smith (Jack) and Betty bird Allen. He married his best friend, Jan Bredesen Sept 27, 1974 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from BYU in Accounting. The last 15 years he worked in the health care industry as an accountant, and recently as Director of Accounting at LDS Hospital. Coworkers loved Rob for his strong work ethic and friendly disposition. He served honorably in the France-Belgium mission, 1972-74. He also served as an Elder's Quorum president, executive secretary, and at the time of his death, first counselor in the bishopric. He has a great love for the Savior, his parents, wife, and family. He will always be remembered for his caring and providing for his family. Rob loved living! He had a great love for basketball, especially showing off his incredible hook shot to his sons. He also loved attending BYU football fly-fishing and cheering on his sons at their soccer games. Just last month Rob was water skiing on Lake Powell, an activity he loved since childhood. Rob was a devoted husband and father. He loved people and in return was admired by all who knew him. We love you and will miss you, Rob.
