Stephen John Boyden(1966 - 2014)

Stephen John Boyden
1966 -2014
Stephen John Boyden, age 48, passed away February 19, 2014 in Page, Arizona. He was born January 20, 1966 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Patricia Shumway and Stephen George Boyden. He married Jennifer Wilburn. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Stephen was precocious as a child, and absolutely brilliant as an adult. He earned the eagle scout award at age 14 and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Madrid, Spain and North Salt Lake. He graduated from Uintah Elementary, Clayton Junior High, East High School, University of Utah with a B.A. degree in Spanish and Theater, and Washburn Law School with a Juris Doctor degree. He was possessed of a wonderful sense of humor coupled with uncommon eloquence. He loved his wife and children intensely, and was totally loyal to them throughout his life. He exhibited his love and tenderness to friends and family, but most especially to unknown thousands who were hopelessly poor, down or depressed. He constantly gave of himself without concern for himself. We love him and miss his quick wit, integrity, and willingness to do hard things. Stephen was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed teaching his wife and children multiple clever ways to survive in nature. He will be deeply missed by them.
Stephen is survived by his wife, parents, children; Stephen Andrew (14), Savannah (11), Jessie Sophia (8) and Alexandra (7), brothers; Marc (Catherine), David (Angela), James (Andrea), Matthew (Alicia), Thomas (Sarah), and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Yale Ward, 1431 Gilmer Drive, Salt Lake City. Friends and family may visit Wednesday evening, February 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, and Thursday morning from 11:45 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. prior to services at the Yale Ward.
