V. Murray Richardson

1918 ~ 2013
Murray Richardson passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Provo, Utah. He was 95 and the 36th and youngest child of Charles Edmund Richardson. His passing completes Edmund Richardson's family group sheets.
Murray was born in Thatcher, Arizona, November 20, 1918 to Daisie Stout Richardson, in a refugee family from Colonias Juarez and Diaz, Mexico. He settled in Logan, Utah, living in the Logan 4th Ward. He attended the Logan schools and completed his formal education at the LDS Business College preparing him for employment with the Southern Pacific Railroad Company. He worked for 42 years with the SP becoming an officer in the company. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He married Wilma Gilbert from Fairview, Idaho in the Salt Lake Temple and raised a family of one son, Bruce Murray Richardson (Virginia Goodsell) of Fountain Valley, CA, and five daughters, Jill R. Clay (Neil) of Springville, Utah; Janean R. Spencer (Richard) of Carmel, CA; Laurie R. Hasleton (Perry) of Sacramento, CA; Susie R. Cardall (John) of Laguna Hills, CA; and Vickie R. Meakin (Robert) of Huntingtown, MD. His posterity includes 42 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Murray served as bishop of the Los Altos Ward of the Palo Alto California Stake, ordinance worker in the Oakland California Temple, and patriarch of the Los Altos California Stake. With his wife, he served three missions.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Kolob 12th Ward, 1627 W Cadbury Lane, Springville, UT. A viewing will be held Friday, one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will take place Friday at 2 p.m. in the Logan City Cemetery.
