"Jerry"
Jerry passed away peacefully at his home on September 8th 2013. Born to Gerald John Van Dyke Jr. and Cora Ann Hayes on April 6, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Married Linda Kay Sagers on July 31, 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Jerry graduated from East High School in 1957. He served an LDS Mission to The Netherlands. Jerry and Linda have six children, Steven (Staci), Sandra (Randy Meyer), Richard (Kaysee), Pam, Russell (Jeanie), Amanda (Alan Andersen) and 20 grandchildren. Jerry owned and operated Fleet-lite Inc. He had a strong work ethic and always looked for and found the best in everyone he came in contact with. He will always be remembered for his ability to forgive and accept everyone. Jerry was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many leadership callings. He worked as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple for 9 years.
Funeral will be held on September 13, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Country Park 8th Ward located at 1988 West 11400 South, South Jordan, UT. A viewing will be held on September 12, 2013 from 6-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy., South Jordan, UT. There will also be a viewing prior to the funeral 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Burial in St. John Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com
