Not sure what to say?

Dear Debbie and family
We just heard of Ron's sudden passing and were deeply saddened. We always looked forward to our visits with him up at Bear Lake. We got such great pleasure laughing with him and listening to his stories about his life. We could always count on him to keep us informed on what was happening in the subdivision there. Ron, this Summer at the lake will not be the same with out you. God bless you, Debbie and your family, as you go through this journey together.

Breivik family-

My deepest condolences go out to your family. Ron has been an integral part of my work at Dugway- always making sure that I, and our customers, were always taken care of and ALWAYS with a smile and a story or two. He spoke constantly of his family and pets (the parrot that he swears hated him!) with such pride. It will never be the same not seeing him behind the wheel or popping in to say hello, share a meal with us and a funny story.

Even when I was well-acqainted with Ron in his early years, he was a kind soul. I have great memories of playing kick soccer in the street or hide-n-seek later in the evening. It didn't matter how much younger you were than Ron, he always treated you like you were as important as the rest. Even then, his delightful friendliness and sense of humor was there. How sad I was to hear of his passing. I wanted to extend my sympathies to his family and let you know you'll be in my prayers.

So grateful and blessed to have such an incredible uncle in my life. I have so many memories of Uncle Ron and aunt Debbie over at our house on Sundays watching Simpsons and my parents playing Rook with them. He was hilarious and always gave me a hug and would say, "hey perty". He always made me feel important. I still think of his voice. I love you Ron. So proud of Debbie and her strength and my dear cousins. So happy to know that Ron is with Thomas now.

When I think back to growing up in the Wilford Stake I think of Ron and Steve. We would sneak into the Wilford Stake or Wilford ward to play basketball. Kurt Hoops and the rest of the gang. I saw Ron in March of this year at a b-Ball game. He was always the nicest person to everyone. I am so sorry for your loss. My own father passed away at 50 and he still has a influence in my life. Keep the faith.

Hillary,
My heart is broken for you today because I know how your heart is torn apart losing your Dad. I know he was your best friend as a Dad should be and how luck are you to have that relationship with Ron. He always made you smile when he came into the office or you talked to him on the phone. And the picture of you and him in the golf cart at the BOWG golf games will always be in my mind.
I love you and know that my thoughts will be with you for along time.

Ron, you were truly an influential man on all of the young men growing up in the ward. I always valued our conversations and respected your strong work ethic and devotion to the Lord. May the Lord bless your family in time of need.

I had Ron and Steve in my guide patrol in the Wilford Ward, in the 60's. I am shocked at Ron's passing. The young should stay and the old must not lose them. My love and wishes go out to your family even though I lost track of my boys when I moved, I never forgot them. I know the Lord is looking after him.

Just want everyone to know...that Ron was a great man! We visited with each other at least once a week for several years, even though it may have been for a few minutes he made it feel that we knew each other for a lifetime. He will be truly missed...and I wish his family Blessings!

June 9, 2011

Ron was the best friend, husband, and dad. He was a surrogate dad to our daughter, Kim, and could get away with giving her advice, like "You should get rid of that boyfriend," that even her own parents couldn't say.

Ron always had a smile; I'll never forget that big booming voice. I loved to see him at church wearing that Olympic pin on his lapel. Ron would give his right arm for you.

He helped out our boys through rough times, taught them how to set a toilet, and shared his fresh moose kill with our family.

He will be sorely missed, and we want Hillary, Katie, Nate and Debbie to know how sorry we are for you loss. His death is a great loss to so many. We love you!

Buddy,

I wish I could wake up and realize that hearing of your passing was just a very bad, very realistic dream. I would like to be able to call you and tell you that I had had a dream, that we could talk, and that I could hear you tell a funny story or make a funny comment and hear your laugh again. I feel so bad, and the prayer ... that I keep in my heart... is filled with hopes that your family will be comforted at such a difficult time.

I wish you a peaceful sojourn into life's next realm. I can't imagine that you'll do much resting as I'm sure there is a little boy's baseball or basketball team there that will have the best supporter ever, just like Oly's teams have had.

Thank you for the memories that I have. I hope you know, but don't know that you will ever realize what an influence for good and happiness you have been in the lives of so many people.

I love you Buddy,

John

I knew Ron and he was my friend. I can't even begin to find the words for how sorry I am for your tragic loss. Your Ron had a magnetic personality and was a light to those of us who worked in the offices at Jacobs. His pride of his family shone through whenever he shared his stories of you and the kids. You dont grieve alone...you are not alone. He will be greatly missed by many. - Denise Lescanec Madron (accounts payable, Jacobs, 2004-2006)

Knowing I will see you again goes a long way toward making me unaffraid of leaving this world. Until then, I will do my best to do you proud. I can't imagine anyone ever loved their brother more than I love you. See you on the other side and if you get a minute, say "hi" to John Lennon for me.

I have known Ron for so long and will miss the phone calls and visits. You can’t say that you meet people of the caliber of this man I am truly happy that I did get to know him. With all the desert sunrise’s he loved out here I will always remember him.
Not how did he die, but how did he live?
Not what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
of a man as a man, regardless of birth.

Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed?
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer,
to bring back a smile, to banish a tear?

Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
but how many were sorry when he passed away

Debbie and family: My heart is broken today for your loss. Every time I talked to Ron or saw him, he made me laugh. He was and is a wonderful person and will be surely missed by his loved ones and everyone else that knew him. I hope Ron and my Richard hook up in that wonderful peaceful place called Paradise so they can talk about old times. I'm sure Ron was happy to see his little Thomas. Now they can take care of each other. My deepest and sincerest condolences to you and yours.

A dark cloud has hovered over all of us this week as we learned of Ron's sudden passing, and while our grief is deep, I can't help but feel lucky to have counted myself as one of Ron's friends. Debbie and family, please know we send our loving thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
