KB7VIL - Fred, you are a GREAT man!! I will be missing your ham radio check-in on our Tuesday night nets here in the Foothill Stake and will always have the memories of your support at our radio functions. I will treasure the recent memory of our short ride together as I drove you to your stake center and we talked about your recent call as Stake Emergency Communications Specialist – sharing thoughts, ideas, plans, and the excitement of the new call.

May Heavenly Father bless your family and friends with his increasing love as they wait to see you again in paradise!

I didn't know Fred wasn't my real uncle until probably 10 years old. I'm so glad that he has always been part of my family and that I have been part of his. I love him so much and I am so proud to call him my uncle. Peggy, Wendy and Cristy I love you so much too, and I'm so glad Fred had you in his life. I hope we can go camping with Fred again in the next life. Camping with Fred are the memories I'll treasure the most. I know I'll be able to talk to him again one day, and I look forward to hearing all about what he is doing in this time he is apart from us.

Fred and I served together as missionary companions in Jundiai, Brazil. I remember two funny things that happened with him. One was when he was saying his prayers and fell asleep on his knees for about three hours. He was quite stiff for a day or two. The other thing was when he was taking a shower he lit a small can of alcohol on fire to keep warm during his shower. He accidentally kicked the can over and was surrounded by fire. He yellled for me to help. We got a kick out of that for a long time.

I'll surely miss him. Please accept my fondest condolences.

Dear Fred, what a special man you were who lifted and strengthen wherever you went. As an old Brazilian Missionary who served around Fred but never had the opportunity to serve directly with him, yet I deeply miss him.

Peggy, know that you have our love and prayers,

Fred & I were missionaries in Brazil and became friends while attending the U of U. We also worked together on key punching missionary addresses leading up to a computerized list of Brazil missionaries. I'm sure many lives have been blessed by knowing him.

We have all been blest to have had Fred in our lives at some point. I've known Fred and his sister Ruth since our days at Loren Farr Elementary in Ogden. In the spring of 1960 I remember his good humor and wit while riding to Salt Lake City with him to a state party convention and getting a VIP tour of the State Capitol building with our small group of high school students. Since those days Fred and I worked together in 40+, Scouting, and Amateur Radio activities. 73- OM -Bruce Bergen KI7OM.

I became well acquainted with Fred while serving in the tri-stake Family History Center. He was extraordinarily helpful and kind to me as well as all who sought his help and advice.
One of my tender recent memories is his checking on me during a recent serious illness of mine.
I admired his skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm for family history. I am grateful for his friendship. I will miss him! George H. Durham
