Dear Matt,
The sadness I feel with your passing away so suddenly is now becoming unbearable. Every morning when I awake my heart is broken. When will the sadness pass?
You were such a wonderful son. You never lost your spirit when things weren’t going well for you. Things were changing for the better in your life—you would have succeeded in life. I wish that I could have seen you get all the happiness that you deserved. I am proud of you Matt. I love you for being such a wonderful, caring son. I have heard many great things about you from your friends and co-workers. What a fine young man you were. I am so grateful that my last words to you were “I love you Matt, take care of yourself”. I pray every night to God that you are in a better place now where he is with you and you don’t have any more stress from worrying about seizures.
So take care of yourself Matt and one day we will all be together again.

It has been a while since we worked together on functions for Kearns-St. Ann School. I was surprised this morning to read of Matt's death in the obit in the Intermountain Catholic. I am very sorry for your loss and will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Just talked you a couple weeks ago. Wished you could've made that trip out here to Pittsburgh that we talked about, to relive the good times. It was great getting to know you for that year in Salt Lake City. It was great watching the Jazz play and sharing a few cold ones with you. Maybe one year the Jazz will beat the Lakers and go on to win it all! That day I'll celebrate for you. Later, buddy.

Im so sorry for your loss Aunt Janice and Uncle Vince. Know that I love you all very much and Im always here for you and always thinking and praying for all of you. Im very blessed that I was able to meet Matt a few years ago and im thankful for the time I had with him, though it was short. It was wonderful knowing you. I am so sorry you had to go. I already miss you saying "Hi Sheila" or "Bye Sheila, have a nice day" whenever you pass by my desk. You were so concerned when I mentioned to you one time that I have been having troubles sleeping. You insisted that I should see a doctor (and you even recommended your doctor) as soon as possible. Now I completely understand why. Thanks my friend. I miss our short conversations in the break room about school, my kids, etc. You will always have a part in my heart. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

There were times when I was not so patient with you at work and for that I am sorry.

This morning's Google Depeche Mode Alert, top story was your OBIT in the Intermountain Catholic, Google found it because of the Depeche Mode reference! MATT! Hundreds of thousands if not millions of Depecehe Mode fans are reading about you today! I already miss our random conversations about DM, Muse, HP, and the Jazz. I miss teasing you about your swearing, or all your strange calamities that happened to you. Thanks for always having faith in me when I didn't. And I still have your quote on my wall on a post-it, and when I look at it, it makes me smile.

To my dearest family, some things Id like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven.
Here I dwell with God above.

I am sorry for our loss. I worked with Matt, he was a great person. He would always talk about how great the jazz was playing even when they played horribly.
