Rosa Resch Obituary
Rosa Hofmann Scroggin Resch, age 91, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013. She was born March 28, 1922 in Zurich, Switzerland to loving parents Karl Edward Hofmann and Margarete Seline Katharina Albisser, the fourth of twelve children. Her family immigrated to Salt Lake City in 1929. She graduated from South High School.
On February 10, 1941 she married Max L. Scroggin, they had five children while living in Bingham Canyon and Copperton. Later divorced. Rosa married Jean Resch October 27, 1966. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 30, 1967, and they resided in Salt Lake City.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in numerous callings, most beloved being a full time mission to Spokane, Washington 1990-1991, and a Leadership Mission with Jean 1981-1983. Unwavering in her testimony of the Savior and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Her family was the love of her life, so she tirelessly and unselfishly served them, often times at great personal sacrifice.
She is survived by her children Dennis (Michael), Brent, Maxine (Earl Holt), stepson Robert Resch, 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Rosa is also survived by sisters Ruth Wooley, Betty Eatchel (Bud), and brother Ronald (Pat) Hofmann, and sister-in-law Lue Hofmann. Preceded in death by her husband Jean, two sons, Larry and Terry, and a daughter-in-law LuAnn Ohmie Scroggin, also a grandson Dennis Scroggin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 26, at 11 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, where there will be a viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Rosa has been a part of our lives for 30 years since our children were in the nursery in the Mt. View 1st Ward. She was the absolute best. I had the honor of working in the nursery with her for a couple of years. We became best friends. She had endless energy in serving others--taking care of someone's children, cooking and delivering dinner, serving in primary, Relief Society, etc., etc.; such an example of true love and charity. From our family, Fred, Diane, Nichole, and Tron we say, "We love you, Rosa." (And we can hear her clearly say, "I love you more.")

Christie and family, What a beautiful person Grandma Rosa is, both inside and out. Thank you so much for sharing her with us. Although she will be greatly missed by those of us left, I am certain many are rejoicing to be able to see her again on the other side of the veil. Much Love DottieLou

To Rosa's family. . . We love your mom very much. She was always so kind and loving to us and our family. She was also a shining example. She had a wonderful sense of humor, too. We are sad that we can't attend her service. We are serving a full-time mission in Farmington, New Mexico. We are sorry for your loss and will miss Aunt Rosa very much.

During many years of employment at Legacy Retirement Residence, I seldom met anyone who always, always had a smile - but your Mom was smiling the day I met her and never changed.
