ANDREW BRINLEY Obituary

Andrew Douglas Brinley 4/5/1974 ~ 5/23/2010 As we sat by his bed through the night and listened to his tortured breathing, we knew our son's two year struggle with cancer was about to end. He fought it vigorously and, oh, so patiently, never complaining or asking "why?" but in the end cancer won. Drew was an obedient son. Given his date of delivery April 5th, 1974, his mother hoped to spend the weekend in the hospital enjoying April General Conference with her new little boy while dad was home coping with four older siblings. Drew accommodated his mother beautifully with a wonderful weekend getting acquainted. He grew from a fun, creative boy to a fun, creative young man. His interests and vocation turned him to the world of film and editing and he was constantly creating productions both as a child and adult. He became the official family photographer and production manager and left a fine legacy of family memories. Drew served an honorable mission in Ventura, California, attended BYU, and graduated from UVU in Multi-media. He loved and appreciated loyal friends and family members who stood by him throughout his two-year struggle. He never got angry or impatient with people. He will be missed by many, especially his parents, Doug and Geri Brinley, brothers and sisters: David (Sandy) Brinley, Terri Ann (Brian) Thomas, Rebecca (Kevin) Klundt, Jonathan (Denise) Brinley, Amanda (James) Christensen, cousins, and adoring nieces and nephews. We thank Dr. Gary Garner, VistaCare Hospice, and especially Nancy Trapnell for her attentiveness. Thanks also to the OakHills 8th Ward for their kindness, friendship, and generosity. A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 to celebrate Drew's life at the Oak Hills Stake Center, 925 East North Temple Drive in Provo. Services are Thursday, May 27th, same address, 11:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to services. Services in the care of Premier Funeral Services.

I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't hear about Drews death until just now. I feel horrible that I am so late. I did treatments with Drew for a year. Drew gave me strenght through his understanding and acceptence of his cancer. He constantly reassured me that there was a plan; That my cancer was more than a problme it was a way to reach out to people and inspire. . To lead people into a understanding. His faith was a beacon for many going through life. I am proud to have called him my friend. Thank you for letting me experience your son.
