Beth Seifert Faddis Obituary
1928 ~ 2013
Beth Seifert Faddis, born Oct 21, 1928, passed away peacefully with her family gathered around her on April 5, 2013. Mom was born at home in Bountiful, Utah to Martin W Seifert and Myrtle L Wayman Seifert; the second of five children. Mom attended schools in Davis County, graduating from Davis High School and then Henager Business College in Salt Lake. She served as a missionary for the LDS Church in the Western Canadian Mission.
Married R. Kenneth Faddis on Feb 6, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised seven children: Susan (Phil) McCraley, Ray (Kori), Sally (Brent) McBride, Richard (Raylynne), Patty (Joe) Patterson, Rick (Tybee), Bonnie (Barry) Stout.
Mom's greatest pleasures revolved around being with her family doing activities such as camping, 4-wheeling, water skiing, and snowmobiling. She had a special talent of water skiing without getting her hair wet - or knowing how to swim. Mom had a fantastic sense of humor which she shared up until her last day. You knew you were her favorite when you had both of her sparkling blue eyes looking straight at you. Mom was an avid genealogist, as well as an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She made many beautiful blankets and afghans as well as her own wedding dress. After Dad passed, Mom spent many hours working at the Jordan River and Oquirrh Mountain LDS Temples which she thoroughly loved.
Survived by her seven children, siblings: Lorine Spencer, Martin (Marilyn) Seifert, Ann Snider, Lee (Cherri) Seifert, 29 grandchildren, 37 and two halves great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband and two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at the Jordan Oaks 1st Ward building at 8117 So Leslie Dr (3905 W) in West Jordan on Wednesday, April 10th, at 12 noon with a viewing prior to the services from 10:30am to 11:30am. Friends and family may also visit on Tuesday, April 9th, at Holbrook Mortuary on 3251 South and 2300 East, Salt Lake City, from 6pm to 8pm. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. We would like to thank Carrie and "all the Teresas" from Haven Home Health and Hospice as well as the staff and residents of the Coventry Independent Living in Cottonwood Heights for the TLC they showed to our mother. Online tributes can be given to the family at www.holbrookmortuary.com.
