Beverly Mae Fullmer Bowlden Obituary
1930 ~ 2018
Beverly Mae Bowlden passed away on the afternoon of April 9, 2018. She spent her final days in the care of her surviving family. Her children, Sherrie (Kevin) Griffiths, Jamie (Annie) Bowlden, and Julie (Russell) Maughan presided over her bedside, and she was visited frequently by her ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is survived also by her sister, Darleen Bliss. She leaves this life joining her husband, James A. Bowlden and her three brothers, D'Ray, Elden, and Bud Fullmer. She was born February 13, 1930 in Delta, Utah to Joseph Smith Fullmer and Julia Mae Peterson.
Her life was full of adventure and love. On June 25, 1950, after having spent two years studying at BYU, she married James and the two of them raised their family while traveling the world together, camping, bowling, and basking in each others' company, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on July 15, 1977.
After James left this life, Beverly managed the house that they had lived in, remaining strong and independent. She cared diligently for her garden, from which she harvested the cucumbers that she would jar into pickles, the plums that would be rolled into fruit leather, and the rhubarb that would be baked into unbeatable pies.
She was a Utah Jazz "superfan", a QVC queen, and a first-rate comedian who loved making her group of girlfriends laugh with the jokes that she would write down whenever inspiration struck her. She was a paragon of style, getting her hair done on the regular, with her adornment of jewelry sparkling atop her impressive wardrobe.
Her magnanimous presence leaves a deep sadness in its passing, but the love, grace, spunk, and wisdom that she imparted will never leave those whose lives she touched.
Flowers can be sent to Holbrook Mortuary. There will be a viewing at the Cottonwood Third Ward House (6301 So. 2300 E.) on Friday, April 13 from 7 to 9pm and from 11:30am to 12:30pm Saturday April 14, with the funeral taking place at 1pm at the Cottonwood Third Ward House.
