Carolee Castagno Renberg passed to the next life after a valiant fight with cancer on June 8, 2013, surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was born April 7, 1951 in Tooele, Utah, to Albert John and Bernice Castagno. Raised in Grantsville, Utah, Carolee was valedictorian at Grantsville High School and graduated from Dixie College and Southern Utah University in Elementary Education. Her unique gifts influenced thousands of students over the 19 years of her teaching career. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her four children and 14 grandchildren. Carolee was stunningly beautiful both inside and out and was a true peacemaker.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carolee emulated her Savior through her life of service and charity. Her children estimate she baked and delivered over half a million cookies. She left a legacy of love.
Preceded in death by her father. Survived by her husband, Steve Renberg; her children, Jenny (Ryan) Thacker, Highland, Allison (Chad) Strang, Riverton, Brent (Jennie) Cowan, Herriman and Sarah (Brian) Thompson, Lindon; former spouse Roger Cowan and her grandchildren, Brendan, Austin, Isabella, Drew, Carson, Ethan, Avery, Dawson, Kaleb, Liam, Oscar, Lauren, Pepper and baby Cowan; her mother, Bernice Castagno; her siblings, Bill Castagno, Pat Chatwin, and Bob Castagno.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Manilla 10th Ward, 3785 W. Boxelder Dr. (corner of Canyon Road-Highway 146 and Boxelder Drive) Cedar Hills, UT, where a Visitation will be held prior from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
