Obituary Condolences

David Paul Allen "Dave the Dude" David Paul Allen, age 35, passed away on August 20, 2011 after a long and courageous 8 year battle with brain cancer. Born November 25, 1975 in Murray, Utah to Craig and Susan Allen. Dave was a great source of joy to all those who knew him. He had an incredible sense of humor that stayed with him through the end. He graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1994 and served an LDS Church mission in Spokane, Washington. Upon returning from his mission he met and married the love of his life, Lexanne Lynne Threet. They were married April 28, 1999 for time and all eternity in the Mount Timpanogous Temple. Dave graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in social work and loved working for the Utah Foster Care Foundation. He loved hiking, camping and biking but most of all, he loved spending time with his two little children who were a huge miracle and blessing. He will forever be remembered for his valiant testimony of the Savior, his quick wit and his love of life. He is survived by his wife, Lexanne, children, Colton and Courtney, his parents, Craig and Susan, and his sister Jenny (Stephen) Boyer. We express our thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Huntsman Cancer Institute who dedicated so much time and compassion to his care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to any Deseret First Credit Union in the name of the Colton and Courtney Allen Trust Fund. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24 at 12 noon at the Glenmoor Stake Center, 4881 W. Cindy Lane (9610 S.), South Jordan. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 S.) and Wednesday from 10:30-11:40 at the Church. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
