Dean W Bond, 93, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 of causes incident to age.
Dean was born in Henefer, Utah on June 16, 1921, the fourth child of Nephi Alma Bond, Jr. and Ingeborg Emily Inkley. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaBelle; his parents and fivesiblings, Jay, Roy, Beulah, Gordon, and Milton. He is survived by two siblings, Clint Bond and Helen Anderson. Dean is also survived by his six children, Deanna (Darel) Nelson, Larry (Bonnie), Madelyn (Mike) Roundy, Alan (Karla), Sherilee (Ken) Alford and Richard (Rebecca). Dean has 27 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren.
Dean was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving as a radio operator in New Guinea and the Philippines. He was discharged in January of 1945 and married LaBelle Pace on February 28, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Dean worked tirelessly throughout his life to support his family. He worked for many years in the Ogden City School District both as a teacher and maintenance worker. He frequently took second jobs including milk-man and house painter. He also spent many summers working in the Farr and McFarland fruit orchards. Dean loved serving in the church. In addition to serving for nearly 20 years in LDS bishoprics (six of them as Bishop), he was always found at stake welfare assignments and ward service projects. Dean and LaBelle served an LDS mission to Ghana, Africa from 1987 -88 and served in the Ogden LDS Temple for many years.
Dean loved being a grandpa. He and LaBelle were always spectators at sporting events involving their grandchildren and they relished gatherings when family members packed into their modest home for dinner.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Rock Cliff 2nd Ward, 1000 Suncrest Dr. A viewing will be held on Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. and Friday, prior to the service at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd.
Memorial donations may be made to the LDS Humanitarian or Mission Fund.

What a great man that left a great legacy. Aaron looks a lot like him. I remember how much I enjoyed him when I met him at the kids wedding.
