Coach: Thank you for all of the memories. The great association that you had with my dad as colleagues at Logan High coaching the many sports that you either were head of or assisted with, and as friends and fellow hob-biers in the Mink business. My dad always cherished your friendship. As a youngster I always remember the sports at Logan High school of course, but more than that I remember the grading of mink on those cold November and December days. Our family always appreciated those fine associations with you and your wife Leah . We are all better people for having known you, associated with you and as your friend. Thanks for all of the fine memories.

We are so sad to have Coach Hap Homestead pass on. He was an important part of our high school years. He was friendly with all of the students. He would stand in the hallway and have fun conversations with us. He was also Gary's basketball coach and a good example to all.
We were fortunate to have him at Logan High!!
Our hearts are with you at this difficult time.
Love,
Gary and Mildred Cragun Watts

Best wishes to the family. My memory is lunch at your house with Winnie when we were at Adams Elementary. Then, of course, watching the fun basketball games at Logan High. The Holmstead family taught me a lot.

I had the privilege of playing three seasons of baseball for Coach Holmstead at Logan High and and I thought the world of him as a coach and counselor. Also, lest it be lost in his coaching success; he was also an outstanding classroom teacher. My sincere condolences to all.

Hap was one my athletic heroes on the basketball courts at Utah State. Later had the privilege of doing my student teachng with him in American History at Logan High. Leah, Arnold, Winnie and the Amacher family were great and caring neighbors in Little Berlin in the 1940's. My best wishes always to the wonderful Holmstead and Amacher families.
