Elizabeth Farr Braithwaite|
2/29/1924 ~ 8/28/2013
Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Elizabeth Farr Braithwaite, 89, passed away peacefully at Legacy House of South Ogden. The youngest of five children, she was born in Ogden, Utah on February 29, 1924 and enjoyed her special Leap Year birthdays every four years. Her parents were Walter and Elizabeth Parry Farr who both passed away while she was 7 & 12 years old. She was raised by a loving brother and grandmother. She graduated from Ogden High School.
Elizabeth married Wayne "H" Braithwaite from Manti, Utah on September 25, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mom and Dad enjoyed winters in Quartsite and Yuma AZ.
He preceded her in death on her 22nd real Leap Year birthday, February 29, 2012.
Mom enjoyed serving in a variety of callings. She was a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and helped compose a book of family genealogy. She did many beautiful and treasured handiwork pieces including quilts, tablecloths, kitchen towels, pillowcases and more.
Elizabeth was a wonderful mother to her four children, Ilene (Marlin) Hoffmann, Pleasant View; Carol Wilson, South Ogden; Jay (Jean) Braithwaite, Riverdale; and Lyle (Jill) Braithwaite, West Valley City; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
With sincere thanks to Encompass Hospice and Legacy House of Ogden. We are grateful for their love and care of our sweet mom.
