I went on a study abroad to Israel and Brother Rasmussen was our leader. We studied the Bible and visited many different locations including Mt Sini. Wonderful experience. Just saw the movie “Escape from Germany”. Wonderful movie.

It has been years since I talked with Brother Rasmussen, but I will always remember him. He was gentle and kind. I was attending BYU Israel 1986, when we met. Elder and Sister Rasmussen were serving the LDS church there. He was our knowledge teacher once in a while. We sat on hard chairs, for long periods of time, learning and listening before our field trips throughout the country. We would get a few minutes to stretch during a long class. Then we'd resume class again. As a break approached, Brother Rasmussen said: "The mind cannot absorb more than the seat can endure". He spoke truth that day! I collect quotes and this is one of my favorites. I appreciated Elder Rasmussen's humor and goodness of heart. What a nice man and servant of the Lord.
My condolences to the family and friends. Thank You for sharing Elder Rasmussen with students like me.

I read the obituaries daily, and look for those who have truly made the most of their time here on earth. This man's life impressed me greatly and I thought how very prepared he was to return and report to his maker. What a beautiful legacy of gospel study and service to pass on to his posterity. God bless your family.
