Fay Maurine Tripp Nilsson
1928 ~ 2013
Fay Maurine Tripp Nilsson quietly passed to the other side of the veil on July 24, 2013. Maurine was born on January 30, 1928 in Murray, Utah to Francis Earl Tripp and Laura Lucile Malmstrom. She married William Leslie Nilsson Jr. September 8, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple and lived her entire life in the East Midvale area. Maurine graduated from Jordan High School and attended Brigham Young University. She served faithfully in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a firm testimony of her Savior. Maurine was a wonderful example of service, always willing to lend a hand or make a meal-whether for family, friends, or a complete stranger. Maurine was very dedicated to her family and in later years, after her children were grown, she enjoyed her work as a teacher's aide in the Jordan School District. She loved education-both learning and teaching. Maurine loved to travel, loved holidays, loved spending time at the family cabin-and any other excuse she could find to gather her family together! She was an avid reader and loved to play games of any kind. Maurine had a sense of humor that endured her many struggles and often brought a smile to those who provided care for her.
Maurine is survived by her five children, Dave (Cindy), Mark (Robyn), Sharon Hastings (Steve), Ruth Greenwood (Bob), and Leslie Dyches (Mark); 17 grandchildren (Laurie, Matt, Andrea, Jon, Rob, Ryan, Cori, Tara, Chris, Britta, Eric, Scott, Kiersten, Erik, Kailey, Morgan, and McCall); 30 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon Tripp (Beth) and Steve Tripp (Sheri). Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Dewayne Tripp, and sister, Joan Marchant.
Maurine spent the past 8½ years at Canyon Creek Assisted Living and had many wonderful caregivers and friends there. The family would like to thank them for their many years of service and loving care. We also express appreciation to Joan and Carol from Hospice for Utah for the amazing, tender care they provided during the last months and days of Maurine's life.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 29 at 12:00 noon at the East Midvale 1st Ward, 7570 S. 240 E. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street. A viewing will also be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery. www.goffmortuary.com

Dear Sharon & Pres. Hastings,
We were saddened to read of the loss of sweet Maurine. We first met her at Canyon Creek when we were on our Mission in the Branch Presidency. From the moment we met she made us feel we had known her for years. After talking to her, Jim & his Father had worked for her Father on some homes, then he knew her brother Gordon. We spent a lot of time laughing and visiting. We all are better people by knowing her and her wonderful attitude. We send our love and sympathy.

To Maurine's dear family:
I have always considered Maurine one of my very best friends. I look back over the years and remember how she helped fellowship me into the Church. The great times we had in the Ward and Stake Primary. We spent many special hours together. She was always so willing to give help whenever it was needed. Our friendship has lasted for many years. I went to see her a couple of months ago and I am so glad I did. I Pray the Lord will bless you through this sad time in your lives.
