Francis Kelly Cook

1941 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Francis Kelly Cook
1941 ~ 2018
On January 4th, 2018, Specialist E4 - Francis Kelly Cook (76), returned home from the war. He fought the battle with all that he had, but in the end, it won.
Grandpa Kelly was born December 21, 1941 in Provo, Utah. He is survived by 5 children: Debbie (Jim) Dye, Sherrie, Christopher (Shellene), Kelly (Melinda), Patrick (Adriana); 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Leah Hamilton Cook; his sister, Christine (Ron) Jonas; his in-laws; and his dog, Shawnee.
Kelly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a tank commander. He was a long haul truck driver for most of his life. He'll forever be known as, "The Diesel Dripper" in the trucking world. He worked for LD Young for many years and Pride Transport where he retired in 2008. He has driven millions of miles over his career.
In his passing, Kelly was met by his parents, Wayne Francis and Olga Madsen; his daughter, Angelique; and two grandchildren. Dad's safe now, with no more suffering. May we all remember him as saying, "I love you way more!" Always, with a big smile.
"We love you Dad. We'll miss you forever. Thanks for the memories and for all you gave us. You were as tough as they come. We'll continue to make you proud."
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 8, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, with an evening viewing Sunday from 5-7 p.m. and Monday prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive.
